Hong-Kai Wang is an artist and educator, currently based in Taipei, Taiwan. She holds a PhD in Practice from Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Wang’s interdisciplinary practice is research-based, driven by a preoccupation with listening and aurality as research methodology, mode of collaboration, and pedagogical tool. Spanning exhibition making, performance, publication and education., her works are concerned with organization of sociality and technology of questions, disrupting given chronologies, and complicating conception of knowledge. Wang’s practice has been presented internationally not only in museums, festivals, academic institutions but also in artist-run and public spaces, informal pedagogical programs and publications. She was one of the represented artists at the Taiwan Pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale. Wang has taught as a guest professor at Ecole nationale superieure d’arts de Paris Cergy, Bard MFA Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, and National Taipei University of Arts.
