Interactive Guided Tour with Dr Ildikó Tamás
This interactive guided tour explores the intersections of contemporary art, cultural anthropology and fashion studies through the Black Mirror. The Long Shadow of the Future exhibition at the Ludwig Museum.
Led by Dr Ildikó Tamás, participants will examine how works of art reflect the social desires, fears and visions of the future, as well as the cultural and technological changes that shape our relationship with our environment, identity, body image and clothing.
The tour approaches the exhibition’s dystopian visions of the future partly through the cultural and social role of fashion. It addresses the changing spaces of urban life, the relationship between technology and everyday culture, new forms of social coexistence, and clothing as an expression of identity and our ideas about the future.
The works in the exhibition also offer an opportunity to consider fashion not simply as an aesthetic phenomenon, but as a sensitive reflection of social norms, power relations, ideologies and visions of the future.
Designed as a dialogue-based experience, the programme invites participants to think together: How are the present and the future connected? How is the relationship between humans and technology changing? How do these questions appear in contemporary art and in the cultural practices of dress? And how can fashion – like art – not only reflect the transformations of our time, but also anticipate possible challenges of the future?
