Biennale 2021: international workshop in Budapest

International workshop in Budapest

As part of the ongoing research and work process of the Othernity project, the exhibition of the 2021 Hungarian Pavilion at the 17th International Exhibition of Architecture, an international workshop will be held between 15-17 of November in Budapest for the 12 participating architecture studios.

During the 3-day-long workshop, architects will have a chance for site visits, interviews, they get to know each other and discuss their projects and the concept in general. On Saturday, after a short opening lecture, the attendants will start to work on their plans in small groups. At the end of the workshop, each studio will make a presentation about the current status of their work and get personal feedback on it helping them to develop and finish their projects in the following weeks.

The goal of the workshop is to offer to the attendants an insight into the buildings which they are currently working on. Thanks to the tours and the support of the curatorial team, they can understand the theoretical contexts of the buildings better too which leads to better designs. During the program, they can connect to the people with whom they are going to share the exhibition space for almost six months.

The workshop is kindly supported by the Association of Hungarian Architects (MÉSZ), the Czech Centre Budapest, the Estonian Institute, the Polish Institute Budapest, the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Slovak Institute in Budapest.
