10 Years of the Strabag Painting Prize

STRABAG (formerly Hungarian Asphalt) road construction company is holding its competition for young artists for the tenth time in 2006. A distinguished jury awards the prizes and the winning works will be displayed by the Ludwig Múzeum. Through this unique initiative, the company offers serious support to talented contemporary Hungarian artists: besides the prize money, winners have the opportunity to display their works, while STRABAG purchases some of the other works for its own collection. Over the past ten years, many of the prize winners have gone on to enjoy impressive careers and international reputations. Besides this year’s entries, the jubilee exhibition will also present a selection from past prize winners.
