The Pink House is an inflatable house occupying 150 square metres of floor space, standing nine metres tall and fashioned after a Greek temple. Two Latvian artists, Aigars Bikse and Kristaps Gulbis have purposely selected classical forms which have lost their social significance to bring visitors closer to contemporary art which is so frequently regarded as incomprehensible and “elitist”. On one occasion, the artists organised bouts of mud wrestling in the house which was premiered at the 2005 Venice Biennale, perhaps succeeding in familiarising the unsuspecting visitor with the genre of body art...
The house has so far been presented in nine European cities, including Brema and Birmingham.

The Pink House can be visited at:
Millenáris, Budapest II, Fény u. 20-22.
