The material for this international exhibition is centred on Nikola Tesla’s path-breaking inventions. Artists were invited to create new works based around concepts of resonance, electricity and electromagnetism, discovering the invisible yet perceptible material powers of nature as well as the effect of vibrating energies on our environment and the human body. For example, Jean-Pierre Aubé’s installation continuously observes the electromagnetic field created in the exhibiting institution, and then transfers the data into audio speakers; Marie-Jean Musiol’s light statue Light Bodies depicts the energies of the living world; the work by the ÆLab group examines Tesla’s nil point energy theory on a microscopic and nano level, guiding visitors through the hinterland territories between natural science and art.
The exhibition now comes to Budapest having been staged at the Montreal Occurrence and Karlsruhe Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (ZKM).
