17:00–18:00 | Artist Orshi Drozdik in conversation with writer and intellectual historian Eszter Babarczy

The conversation takes as its starting point Drozdik’s series Adventure in the Dystopia of Technos, featured in the exhibition, in which photographs, facsimiles, various objects and love letters come together to create a distinctive universe. The discussion will explore disillusionment, a female perspective on “patriarchal science”, as well as the historical evolution of desire, knowledge and the body.

Orshi Drozdik is a visual artist and recipient of the Munkácsy Mihály Award. She graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where she studied painting and graphic arts, and served as a habilitated university professor at the same institution from 2005 to 2015. She lived for many years in New York and Amsterdam and currently lives and works in Budapest.

Eszter Babarczy is a writer and intellectual historian, and a habilitated associate professor at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest (MOME). Her most recent book, Apám meghal (My Father Dies), was published by Jelenkor in 2025 and received the Merítés Prize. Her forthcoming book, A pénz (Money), will be published by Open Books.

18:00–19:00 | Closing exhibition tour with curators Borbála Kálmán and József Készman

If we understand the present as the dystopian realisation of the past, how can the concept of dystopia help us imagine a way forward? Through the exhibition’s hidden narratives, the curators’ closing tour will explore this question, among others.
