Family Morning The Flowers of Another Galaxy

In the spring season, many different flowers bloom one after another. First come the snowdrops and violets, followed by the fragrant hyacinths and the tulips glowing in an endless spectrum of colors. Fragrant, colorful, velvety to the touch, delicate, ephemeral—these are perhaps the words that most readily come to mind when we think of flowers.

This time, however, we will explore flowers found in a contemporary museum—strange, austere, colorless creations made of various metals. They seem as if they were plants from another planet. During the session, we will get to know some truly unusual real-life plants, observe how plants are depicted in classical art, and then take a look into the astonishing world and still lifes of surrealism. Finally, we will create our own unique, three-dimensional flowers that do not exist on Earth.

Please make sure children come dressed in clothes suitable for creative activities—clothes that parents don’t mind getting a bit messy!

The session can accommodate a maximum of 14 children and their parents.

The Family Morning consists of three parts. As the activities are interconnected and build on one another, we kindly ask participants to arrive by 10:30.

With a valid ticket for the session, parents can also join a guided tour of the exhibition Black Mirror: The Long Shadow of the Future on the 2nd floor, starting at 11:00.
