Mïus will perform a song from their new album Étude de Battements, connecting the members online in an audio-visual composition created together with Andrea Stojánovits.

Among many other events, the launch party of the recently released mïus album has also been cancelled due to the closure of public spaces, suspending ten months of creative work by ten people. The band, like many other groups, switched to a slow, winter-like modus vivendi.

Mïus has never been a band busy giving concerts, we only put on a few every year. This isn’t a conscious decision, but it is close to the attitude of slow movements. Instead of a constant presence, we chose a slower way of making music, which doesn’t mean that we aim to slow down the rhythms, we just want to leave enough time for the creative process and experiencing it.” Gergely Álmos

Adapting to the new situation, band members will be contributing to the performance separately but in a joint composition from London and Budapest, to compensate the audience for the unplayed sounds and the unlit lights.

Our Saturday online concert is inspired by the yet virtual exhibition Slow Life. Radical Practices of the Everyday.

Following his 2018 album Twentytwo 22, which was remixed by musicians Brandt Brauer Frick and the English Vessels, and in addition to its BBC radio premiere it was praised in magazines such as Mixmag, DJ Mag, Faze Mag, Gergely Álmos, alias mïus, has entered a new artistic period, and released a new album. This concept album, entitled Beat Studies, was recorded by the architect-producer in London, Budapest and Szeged over the course of a year, together with his fellow musicians. The album mixes different beats and styles to create beat mash-ups. In addition to the previous line-up – Kristóf Gulyás (drums) and Tamás Mezey (bass) – a new member, Szilvia Várnai playing the acoustic piano, has joined mïus. Besides, Raf Skowroński and Dóri Hegyi (Ohnody) will debut as singers.
