Founded in 1971, the Makó Artists’ Colony is a special site in the history of Hungarian graphic art. Its main profile comprised photo-based silk screen and offset printing. Photography pervaded the creative process in many ways: artists used it to document action art, but it was suitable for the research of structure, movement and temporality as well as for the manipulation of reality. The exhibition presented the history of the art colony; the pieces on display are characterized by interdisciplinary vision and a multitude of styles.
