CAPP workshop with KÁVA

The first CAPP event was a 3+1 day workshop with Káva Drama/Theatre in Education Association (Káva) in September 2015. The collaboration was led by Anita Patonay and András Sereglei (actors/drama teachers) from Káva and by Andrea Simon, Project Manager responsible for International Relations at Ludwig Museum. 23 artists attended the workshop from a variety of art forms: dance, singing, fine arts and applied arts, film, animation and theatre. The workshop started with the viewing of the theatre performance Sculpture, performed by Káva actors for and involving the audience of a class of secondary school students. Observing the joint artistic process followed by the analysis of the professional work let the workshop participants examine the triad of artist, artwork and community. During the 3-day workshop many fundamental questions came up about the complexity of the creative art process. The aim of the workshop was to show participants the creative opportunities of community art processes within their own art forms.
A week after the intensive 3-day programme with Káva, participants formed smaller groups to make own project plans using experiences gathered during the workshop. Project plans were showcased on the 4th day to a team of experts representing the following aspects: Ágnes Eperjesi – fine arts, community art, Kriszta Szipőcs – curatorship, Andrea Simon – project management, Márton Oblath – social sciences, Anita Patonay – participative thinking. Project ideas were focusing on solving different social problems besides creating an art product. The key success factors of the workshop were the openness of participants, and Káva’s experience in creating collaborative and participative art.
