The Ludwig Museum does justice to an annual tradition by undertaking the presentation of a photographic collection that is internationally known. Looking back upon 14 years of the collection work of DZ BANK AG, the curators at the Ludwig Museum could choose from some 5000 works of some 550 artists for the current exhibition. The audience can recognise the emphasis on dialogue a number of works by Tracey Moffatt, Jochen Gerz, Olafur Eliasson and Mario Merz. The Budapest show provides independent space for the compositions of these four artists. On the other hand, attention is also directed to the enigmatic works of closed, internal systems, that consciously stand unbroken in their own dignity before the viewer, like attitudes awaiting decoding. Beyond the individual work, the formulation of attitudes is reinforced by the organisational concept of the exhibition. The compositions of numerous Hungarian photographers feature within the show as a valuable supplement on equal footing with the international material. Magyar Takarékszövetkezeti Bank Zrt. is the partner of DZ BANK AG.
