The exhibition, which can be considered the first stage of a longer and more comprehensive research project, draws primarily on the Ludwig Museum’s collection, in addition to a few invited artists, and through this, it maps the dystopian artistic assumptions and thought experiments of the Hungarian art scene over the past decades
The Big Bang compilation shows the evolution of the museum’s collection, starting from the timeline of acquisitions. This chronologically unfolding plane is intersected by the logic of the thematic perspective: the exhibition is presented in its own chronological order, divided into separate sections, and presents a unique cross-section of the continuously growing collection.
The international group exhibition Walk This Way examines walking as an artistic form, a narrative device, and a critical practice. Through works, projects, and actions, it explores how the everyday act of walking can become a means of discovery, mapping, resistance, and political action.
